Wine growing can be a solitary and lonely path. This is especially true for women, who lead a new generation in this male-dominated industry. Thus is born Les Intrépides, a collective of three female winemakers from the Languedoc region, intent on carrying the values of feminine solidarity and passion for their historic wine making region.
Risk-takers, determined, decided, courageous, daring… adjectives for these women bringing a fresh perspective and boundless energy to their industry. Marie Chauffray (Domaine La Réserve d’O), Anaïs Ricome (La Croix Gratiot) et Lidewij van Wilgen (Terre des Dames), all certified organic or biodynamic, created their collective as a way to support and uplift each other; a safe space to share ideas and build community.
