Review: Ole Henriksen’s NEW Banana Bright Face Primer

I am so excited to tell you about Ole Henriksen’s brand new Banana Bright Face Primer! Thanks to Ole Henriksen and Influenster, I was sent a complimentary product for testing purposes.

I’ve used quite a few Ole Henriksen products over the years and I have always found them to be high quality and affordable. I’ve usually just used their Balance (green packaging) and Transform (blue packaging) lines, but I’ve heard lots of great things about the Truth (orange packaging) line that this primer us part of.

I tended to avoid Vitamin C products or anything that promises glowy or dewy skin because I find they usually make oily skin like mine look even oilier.

This primer surprised me and did not do that!

This primer is inspired by “banana powder”, a must-have for any makeup kit for its luminizing properties. Along with vitamin C, Banana Bright brightens skin and blurs fine lines and blemishes. It hydrates too, leaving skin looking radiant.

The brochure I was sent also says that this primer improves and extends makeup wear and it leaves skin looking dewy. I’ve actually stopped wearing foundation, so I can’t say if the makeup claim is true, but I can confirm that my face looks hydrated and dewy, without looking greasy.

There are three recommended ways to wear this primer. I wear mine on top of my moisturizer and Dior’s Capture Totale Dreamskin Advanced, and underneath any concealer, blush, or other makeup.

The packaging is neat. It looks like a regular tube, but the product comes out of a pump. I feel like this might make it more difficult to get to the product as it runs low (especially since the pump isn’t removable), but I usually end up cutting up tubes to get all that’s within anyways.

The primer itself is a very pale orangey colour and smells like a tropical fruit smoothie. I personally like the scent and I’m glad it doesn’t smell like bananas.

It has a very faint shimmer and goes on sheer. I tried to take photos of it, but it appears that the primer does what it says: blurs.

Once fully blended, there is a faint glow. It was difficult to capture on “camera” (actually my phone), but if you look closely, you can see a difference between my thumb bone (dewy and illuminated) vs the rest of my hand (where there is no product).

Overall, I love this product and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a dewy, healthy-looking face. I plan on purchasing this once I run out!
